My name is Tyler Kurz and I thought I would start a blog about a topic that I’m just starting to get my feet wet with… Indie Music! I’m not going to lie, I’m no expert. I am learning about new indie bands and indie genres every day. I don’t have a degree in music history, nor do I play in an indie rock band. I’m just a fan of the music and I hope that I can give people a different perspective, as well as, help them discover great new music! 

I grew up in Winnipeg MB, home of Neil Young, The Guess Who, Harlequin, Streetheart, Mood Jga Jga, The Watchmen, Crash Test Dummies, Chantel Kreviazuk, Remy Shand, The Duhks, the Wailin’ Jenny’s, Fresh I.E., and the Weakerthens. There is a really diverse music scene here and I think that has opened me up to the new and innovative sounds of indie music. I hope you enjoy this blog and appreciate your comments.~TJK
